Specialty

Our selection of specialty sake includes Nigori (unfiltered), Sparkling, and Umeshu (plum flavored).

Nigori - Sometimes referred to as “cloudy” sake because of their milky appearance, these are somewhat sweet and enjoyable, and match particularly well with spicy foods.

Sparkling - Sparkling sake are fun, festive, soft and sweet, and low in alcohol. The flavor tends to be more like cream soda than premium sake.

Umeshu - We carry several types of premium umeshu including a high grade jummai ginjo sake to which plums have been added during the brewing process, a shochu/brandy - based plum liqueur which has been aged 5 years prior to release, and a honjozo sake to into which pureed plum has been blended. These are quite different from 'plum wine," which is made using a white wine base and contains plum juice, other flavorings, and added sugar.
